Unsuccessful Experiments
December 31, 2011
Not everything is a winner. After a little bit of promise using watercolor, which totally destroys the fibers of ordinary copy paper, bigger more formal experiments didn’t work out; I think if this is going to work I’m going to need to make smaller squares and scan them at higher resolutions so the fiber breakdown really shows. Or move on to the next thing because painting with watercolor is easier than I thought (not painting an image, because I lack skill, but just using the paint) but that doesn’t make it a requirement that something comes out of it. On the other hand the discount craft paint I just bought for new squares is crap so I need to go back to the store and spend that $2.29/bottle on two or three bottles to get decent swipes and paper curls vs. yellowy thin messes.
