Old Tricks

February 22, 2010

I forget who or when exactly but someone once taught me I could put CDs upside down in the microwave for 3 or 4 seconds and experience a little lightshow because certain elements of the CD are metallic and: metal and microwaves don’t mix.  This is probably a toxic thing that should never be done ever (kids do not try this at home) but before I got fired I bought some clearance CDs for mircowave/photo purposes.  The first one, NSYNC, I accidentally put in for 10 seconds and the whole thing curled like a Pringle.  Whoops.  So this, below, is Garth Brooks’ Scarecrow put in for the proper amount of time–enough to destroy the CD but not enough to warp it.  Enjoy!

(Also, if you feel like cleaning up afterward, feel free to put an unshelled hardboiled egg in the microwave for approx. 8 minutes and watch carefully.)
